This is a fabrication technician position working as part of a
team in the La Crosse Engineering Laboratory. It is primarily
a first-shift position, but work hours and shifts can vary based on
assigned project schedules.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and
Use basic measuring/inspection instruments.
Fabricate a wide variety of parts from raw materials to close
Operate manual and computer-controlled machines and other
Continuously learn to cross train on new processes and
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
Work safely and maintain a clean, safe work area in accordance
with company policies and procedures.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives in assigned
Less than 5% travel required.
Technical diploma in Welding or Fabrication , or AAS
degree or journeyman status.
CAD and/or CAM experience required.
Good mechanical aptitude. Comfortable with hand tools, power
tools, and tools common to the Fabrication industry.
Must have knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
Computer skills; i.e., working in a Windows environment with
MS Office products.
CNC Machine programming ability and documented
Ability to be licensed for material handling
Willing to learn and grow technically.
Be self-starting and able to work in a fast paced
Ability to communicate effectively orally and through written
and electronic media.
Must be able to flex work hours, work overtime, and
accommodate shift changes.
Must work well in a group environment to complete
Must manage your work load in a timely matter.
