Performance Foodservice, a leader in food distribution serving a wide array of markets across the U.S., is seeking a skilled and experienced Meat Cutter to join our dynamic team. This position offers a significant hiring bonus and is pivotal in ensuring that our customers—ranging from family-operated eateries to national chains—receive the highest quality meat products. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in meat cutting techniques, a strong understanding of safety and sanitation regulations, and a passion for food service excellence. Perform precise cutting of beef, pork, poultry, and other meats according to company standards and customer preferences. Ensure the maintenance of a clean and safe work environment, complying with all company and regulatory policies. Inspect meat products for quality and manage inventory to maximize freshness and minimize waste. Collaborate with team members and management to optimize the meat department's efficiency and quality of output. Provide guidance and training to less experienced staff in meat cutting techniques and safety protocols. Proficient in various meat cutting techniques and tools (e.g., knives, saws, and grinders). Strong understanding of meat products and quality standards. Able to adhere to safety and sanitation regulations. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Food Handler's Certificate preferred. Completion of a Meat Cutter apprenticeship or certification program is highly advantageous.
