Job OverviewTrane Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join our team as an Application Technical Lead. This role will be responsible for integrating variable speed drives into Trane Commercial Systems' HVAC equipment and providing technical direction to the Power Electronics Applications Team.
Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement power electronic device applications for Trane Commercial Products manufactured in North America, including new product development and lifecycle maintenance.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the Power Electronics Applications Team, including device selection recommendations, sizing, and qualification.
• Coach and mentor team members on power electronics applications and best practices.
• Develop and maintain standard work processes and best practices for power electronics applications.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for complex issues in the field and factories.
• Review and approve project designs and technical specifications.
• Qualify variable frequency drives for use in Trane Commercial HVAC products.
• Apply variable speed drives to HVAC equipment, including compressors and fans.
• Interface unit-level controls and safety features with the drive.
• Optimize VFD cooling for product-specific needs.
• Analyze motor-drive compatibility and tune the electrical system for optimal performance.
• Write specifications for electrical components in the motor-drive system.
• Conduct qualification testing of the motor-drive system.
• Provide lifecycle support for the product, including field and factory problem resolution.
  Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 7 years of variable frequency drive applications experience.
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering is a plus.
