Job DescriptionWant a career in HR?The Human Resources
Generalist works closely with the HR Manager in all areas of
recruitment, hiring, orientation and retention of employees;
employee relations; benefits administration, regulatory and legal
compliance; and the administration of programs such as FMLA;
workers compensation, unemployment compensation and OSHA. The Human
Resources Generalist assures transactional accuracy and timeliness
and provides for the accurate maintenance of employee-related data.
The Human Resources Generalist provides effective interpersonal and
employee/company relationships through visibility and active
involvement in company programs/committees.The Human Resources
Generalist will promote and support our company values and our
leadership competencies. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND
RESPONSIBILTIESRecruitment, hiring, discipline, and discharge
administration for hourly employees:Helps coordinate innovative and
competitive recruitment effortsAssists in the management of the
employee's full life cycleRecruits, interviews, and facilitates the
hiring of qualified job applicants for open positionsCollaborates
with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies
required for openings.Manages new hire orientation and initiates
onboardingMaintains employee training records to ensure OSHA and
ISO complianceReviews, tracks, and documents compliance with
mandatory and non-mandatory training Maintains relationships with
temporary placements agencies and coordinates temporary staffing
needsMaintains all HR documentation files required to support
discipline or dischargeBenefits Administration - Administers
benefit and regulatory programs, including but not limited
to:Conducts program open enrollments and re-enrollmentsAdministers
and tracks all forms of leave (FMLA, STD, LTD, General LOA,
etc.)Administers COBRAinsuranceFields employee questions about all
aspects of company-sponsored benefitsAdministers pension and
retirement planning, including 401kDelivers education and
information about benefitsCommunicates benefits and plan changes to
the CompanyHuman Resources Policies and Procedures
AdministrationProactively maintains the HRIS system to ensure data
integrityDevelops and prepares specialized HR reports for
management to assist in attainment for company
objectivesUnderstands and applies basic HR law and
regulationsMaintains regulatory postings and advertisementsMonitors
and provides for consistent and fair application of rules and
policiesProvides awareness and enforcement of company policies and
proceduresFosters positive employee/company and company/community
relationshipsAchieves visibility and active involvement in company
committees as assignedDemonstrates leadership in employee
relationsFosters exceptional treatment of employeesFosters a
positive image of the Company with employeesProvides mediation
assistance between employeesResolves employee grievances fairly and
consistentlyProactively addresses issues with employee
performanceProtects the confidentiality of employee and company
informationDevelops strong trusting relationships with internal
customersRequirementsQUALIFICATIONSAssociates degree in HR
Management preferred1-3 years of human resources experience
preferredWorking knowledge of state and federal employment law and
regulations requiredExperience administering health and welfare
benefits and handling day-to-day employee relations issuesKnowledge
of working with worker's compensation, FMLA, COBRA programsA
demonstrated customer service orientationStrong verbal and written
communication skillsMust have experience with Microsoft Office
-Word, Excel, PowerPoint specificallyMust be able to handle several
assignments and responsibilities while managing interruptions and
changing prioritiesEffective analytical, problem solving,
administrative and organizational skillsMust be willing to perform
tasks listed in other pay grade job descriptions as
requiredPHYSICAL AND WORKING CONDITIONSThe physical and working

This individual must be able to remain in a stationary position.
Must be able occasionally move about throughout the facility,
constantly operate a computer and other office machinery. This
position is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions. Work
