Job Description Registered Nurse Hospital - Emergency Services DepartmentEmergency Services Contact LocationLa Crosse Schedule/Shift12 hour Nights, Wkds FTE0.6 FTE Benefit EligibleYes Temporary PositionNo Job Details Part-time Night shift RN position available in Emergency Services The hours for this position are 12 hour night shifts (7 pm - 7 am) and every 3rd weekend. Previous RN experience in acute care or pre-hospital setting is preferred for this role. The registered nurse (RN) focuses on the health and wellness of individuals, families and populations in collaboration with other health care professionals by incorporating evidence-based practice in the management of acute illness, chronic disease, disability, and end-of-life care. The RN utilizes the nursing process and aligns practice with organizational policies, professional nursing standards and regulatory practice acts. Job Responsibilities - Assessment: Systematically and holistically assesses the patient's physiological, emotional, sociocultural, spiritual, and financial status while considering lifestyle preferences and learning needs. - Planning: Collaborates with patients, families, and health care professionals to develop a patient-centered plan of care to promote health and optimize wellness. - Intervention: Provides competent and innovative patient care and education based on patient complexity, acuity, and nursing judgment within a culture of caring and safety. - Documentation: Documents nursing assessment, planning, interventions, implementation, and patient/family response. - Evaluation: Determines patient's progress toward achieving goal(s), and revises plan of care in collaboration with patient/family as needed. - Delegation and Supervision: The RN delegates, supervises and evaluates the effectiveness of tasks performed by Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) or Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) who have the knowledge and skill to perform the task, taking into consideration the following: - scope of practice - training - competence - population served - experience - policies and procedures - Leadership: Guides, directs and influences others by participating in activities such as: - quality improvement, evidence-based practice and research - shared governance (council structure) - department-based projects - continual learning - . Position Qualifications Education and Experience: RequiredAssociate degree in Nursing from an accredited college of nursing, as recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Registered nurses without a baccalaureate degree will be required to get a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE) within six years of hire date. Graduates from nursing programs which are not accredited by ACEN or CCNE, must have at least one year of recent RN experience from an applicable care setting. DesiredBachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college of nursing, as recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
