Job Description:
Mayo Clinic, a leading nonprofit in medical practice and
research, seeks an experienced Health Unit Coordinator to join our
dedicated healthcare team. This role is pivotal in maintaining the
efficiency of our healthcare units through expert coordination of
inpatient care activities, management of patient data, and acting
as a liaison between patients, families, and medical staff. The
Health Unit Coordinator will uphold Mayo Clinic’s commitment to
providing compassionate and innovative care, ensuring operational
alignment with our integrated clinical practices. Coordinate and
manage patient records and charts to ensure accuracy and
availability. Act as the primary communication link between
patients, family members, and various healthcare professionals.
Schedule and confirm patient appointments, surgeries, and other
medical procedures. Manage the unit’s inventory of medical supplies
and equipment. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and
maintain confidentiality of patient information. Proficient in the
use of medical software for patient management. Strong
organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent verbal and
written communication. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced
environment. Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare
practices. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k
Certified Health Unit Coordinator (CHUC) preferred.
