Laboratory Engineer, you will help develop Trane Commercial HVAC
Compressor products in the Engineering R&D Lab. Your position
encompasses many functions of laboratory engineering: designing and
building of new test stands, standard tests development, test
planning, test automation systems, instrumentation, and process
controls. Your role is responsible for applying experimental
methods for product development and validation. The ideal candidate
enjoys project management, hands-on laboratory work and
problem-solving in a team environment.\n\nCore Job Responsibilities
(others may be added):\n\n\n\tLead development and building of new
compressor test stands and experimental setups.\n\tLead compressor
development and validation test projects.\n\tOwn test facilities'
capability and ensure equipment have the necessary functions and
reliability to produce quality data.\n\tCoordinate with external
vendors and contractors.\n\tDevelop standard test procedures to
drive test efficiency and lab throughput.\n\tDevelop measurement
systems for laboratory testing.\n\tDevelop expertise on advanced
data acquisition systems.\n\tWork closely with both laboratory
technicians and design engineers.\n\tEnsuring compliance with
relevant regulations, building codes, and health and safety
standards.\n\tMaintain test stand documentation.\n\tSome overnight
travel is required, including international (approx.
10%).\n\n\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n\n\tBachelor's Degree in
Engineering or Applied Sciences and at least 2 years of compressor
development or engineering laboratory experience is
required.\n\n\n- OR -\n\n\n\tMaster's Degree in Engineering or
Applied Sciences is required.\n\n\n\nKey Competencies:\n\n\n\tMust
be a highly motivated team player.\n\tExcellent project management
skills.\n\tFamiliarity with mechanical design or electrical design
or controls design.\n\tAbility in using 3D modeling.\n\tExcellent
written and verbal communication skills. \n\tAbility to think
outside of box and demonstrated efficiency improvements in past
roles.\n\tStrong mechanical aptitude is a plus.\n\n\n\nAnnual
Compensation Range is $65,000 to $123,000 annually. Disclaimer:

result of seniority/experience level, merit and geographic location
