The VP of Operations manages a diverse set of business operations and is responsible for instituting systems that provide effective internal management. The position is a leader of leaders and provides strategic oversight to delivery functions such as value-stream management, business partnership operationalization, product set-up, production, classroom and field operations, and continuous improvement. This role requires the analysis of broad and complex issues and the formulation of strategies to ensure that deadlines are priorities for product delivery to customers are met in a cost-effective manner.

This leadership role will be an integral organizational leader and sponsor of annual strategic objectives. S/he will also be responsible for acquisition and business integration strategies and execution. As an executive leader, standard work includes mentoring, inspiring and coaching at multiple levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities Participates in developing and implementing a strategic operating plan that supports the organization’s vision and goals and long-term operations strategy; translates the strategic plan to staff to ensure support, and modifies the plan in response to change internal and external factors. Oversees the functions of integration (M&A), business partnership opera ionization, continuous improvement, collaboration, production, customer management systems, and value stream areas. Responsible for budgeting, analysis, reporting to the executive leadership team to evaluate operating results in terms of cost, budget, operating policies, trends, and increased profit opportunities. Analyze revenue, profit, and cash flow opportunities for the business and recommend actions. Collaborate with the executive leadership team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of our organization. Participates with other executive leadership team members in setting policies and determining strategies to meet or exceed revenue, profit, and cash flow commitments to the organization. Fosters a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices, customer focus, and service and encourages individual accountability and integrity. Analyzes current and future trends and needs and accurately assesses functional responsibilities competitive strengths and vulnerabilities to maintain a competitive position within the industry. Responsible for meeting the organization’s financial targets (key measurements and benchmarks including operating income, revenue, margins, and growth). Creates and manages a department structure, operating standards, and practices that are responsive and adaptable to evolving business needs. Manages employee performance by establishing clear goals and expectations, tracking progress against goals, ensuring timely feedback, and addressing performance problems and issues in a prompt manner. Assures protection for the assets of the business through internal control, internal auditing and assuring proper insurance coverage. Ensures continuous improvement of customer satisfaction through programs to reduce deviations, provide for on-time delivery, and meeting consumer quality expectations. Establishes, coordinates and administers as an integral part of management, an adequate structure for the delivery of effective and efficient administrative operations. Assists KP’s President in the oversight of the achievement of the organization’s established strategic goals and objectives and notifies the President of any material deviations from these goals and objectives. Assesses and manage principle risks of the organization’s business within operations (i.e. proposals, projects, and staffing). Travel approximately 25% of the time. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field 7-10 Years' experience providing operational leadership; managing complex business situations; operations; product knowledge; finance Must have strong business knowledge and experience, with the ability to provide reports and analysis of financial and operational position to forecast, develop and implement strategic plans within the context of the larger picture. Knowledge of principles and practices of management, financial analysis, project management, and personnel management. Skilled in planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating a wide variety of activities; developing implementing and communicating policies and procedures for a large organization; analyzing data, making sound recommendations and adopting effective causes of action, working tactfully with all levels of the organization. Previous accountability for departmental/company P&L with demonstrated experience in profitability management. Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team. Adaptable and able to multi-task; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving work environment while also driving toward clarity and solutions.
