The Production Manager shares responsibility for
all print and manufacturing processes at both of Inland's La Crosse production facilities
with their counterpart on the opposite shift. Key responsibilities include
increasing the overall efficiency of Operations while managing Press and Finishing
employees and processes in a safe and efficient manner in an effort to meet
quality expectations that result in total customer satisfaction. The Production
Manager focuses on driving improvements throughout Operations to ensure key
production, safety and quality metrics and initiatives are achieved. This role will lead, guide, and supervise
front line production supervisors and ensure their focus is on driving results
through continuous improvement and employee relations and engagement. This position will also partner with Pre-Press,
P&IC, Quality, Engineering/R&D, Maintenance, Sales and Customer Account
Management to deliver on Operational goals and targets.

  • Promotes, provides leadership and drives
    Inland's philosophy of continuous improvement in the areas of Safety,

  • Drives standardization through the
    development and implementation of technical standards to help maximize
    repeatability, quality, compatibility and safety
  • Provides leadership and mentorship
    to production supervisors and leads with regards to quality, safety,
    productivity, staffing and employee relations
  • Formulates and recommends
    manufacturing plans and policies that guide the organization in maintaining
    and improving its operations

    • Sets
      and enforces policies and procedures for employees to follow requiring employee
      engagement and accountability
    • Continuously evaluates and measures current performance
      against forecast and targeted KPI metrics

      • Proactively assesses, clarifies,
        and validates customer needs
      • Coordinate plant activities
        through planning, utilizing resources to insure the manufacturing
        objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner
      • Ensure the optimal use of human, technical,
        financial and material resources in achieving company goals
      • Implement cost effective systems
        of control over materials, equipment, and labor
      • Provides clear communication with
        workforce and external partners; ensure departmental work methods are compatible
        with company standards and customer requirements
      • Ensure the compliance of safety,
        health, environmental and quality guidelines and policies, and as required
        by regulations and customer requirements
      • Participates in the hiring/orientation
        process of new employees
      • Responsible for supervision and evaluation
        of employee job performance
      • Assists in setting operational
        initiatives and strategies in alignment with company goals.

        • In
          coordination with the management group recommends operations policy and process

          Essential skills and experience:

          • 2
            year degree in Printing or Manufacturing, Bachelor's degree in Business or
            Engineering, or equivalent experience
          • Minimum
            of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing setting
          • Ability to multi-task
            and thrive in a high-pressure environment
          • Detail-oriented with an
            ability to manage throughput, prioritize work and minimize production downtime
          • Logical and conceptual
            thinking skills to correlate job specifications
          • Must
            have thorough understanding and working knowledge to manage throughput,
            capacity and productivity
          • Strong analytical and
            problem solving skills
          • Excellent verbal and
            written communication skills
          • Must be analytical,
            innovative and decisive
          • Ability to develop
            productive relationships and communicate effectively with management, peers,
            plant personnel, suppliers and customers
          • Ability to lead and
            work in cross functional teams
          • Ability to work independently with
            limited direct supervision
          • Intermediate PC skills
            with knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. Possess a general
            understanding of business operating systemsNonessential skills and experience:

              • Bachelor's
                degree in business, management, or a related field
              • Knowledge
                of packaging/packaging print production

                Work Environment:

                • Operates
                  in a demanding, fast-paced, people-oriented manufacturing environment with
                  frequent changes and interruptions, and multiple project assignments
                • Works
                  with a variety of people including vendors, customers, employees, team members,
                  and managers

                  Required Work Schedule:

                  • Typically works standard business
                    hours (Evenings)
                  • Must be flexible for occasional
                    meetings and responsibilities outside of standard business hours including
                  • Travel and overnight trips may
                    happen on occasionPhysical

                    • Must pass Ishihara Color Assessment and
                      receive a minimum of average/normal color vision score on Farnsworth Munsell
                      100 Hues and D-15.
                    • Light physical work may be required from time
                      to time
                    • 20/40
