The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, managing a team of accountants, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong background in accounting, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality financial standards.(NOTE: This is a HYBRID position, but it will start as 100% in-office until the hiring manager says it's ok to transition to hybrid. Number of in-office vs. work-from home days is open to discussion. This role can work out of any of our TRICOR office locations - whichever location is closest to their home residence. An accounting degree is REQUIRED.)ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Financial Reporting:Coordinate the month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.Ensure timely and accurate completion of financial reporting tasks during closing periods.Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure a seamless integration of financial data for reporting purposes.Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.Collaborate with the Controller to ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.Accounting Operations:Supervise and lead the accounting team in day-to-day operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and other financial transactions.Conduct financial analysis, variance analysis, and provide insights to support decision-making.Integration of Acquired Agencies:Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop integration plans for acquired companies.Coordinate financial integration activities, ensuring seamless transition and alignment with company objectives.Ensure compliance with accounting principles and disclosure requirements for business combinations.Conduct post-acquisition financial analysis to evaluate the success of completed transactions.Team Leadership:Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Effectively manage employees in multiple locations.Provide guidance and professional development opportunities to team members.Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to team members.Audit Support:Assist in the coordination of external audits, ensuring all necessary documentation is prepared and provided to auditors.Address audit inquiries and implement recommendations for improvement.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldMinimum 7 years of general accounting experienceProficiency in MS Office software productsProficient in using financial management software, ERP software, and advanced knowledge of MS ExcelAbility to establish and maintain accounting practices for all functional areas including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general accounting, and budgeting to ensure accurate and reliable data necessary for insurance business operationAbility to ensure accounting procedures are in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)Ability to conduct timely financial statement preparation and statistical reports for management and board review on a monthly and annual basisAbility to analyze and interpret records as needed to ensure management and board understandingRegular and predictable attendance and ability to work varied hours including overtime if requiredExcellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written, with internal and external customersStrong project management skills and experience, with proven ability to proactively analyze and problem solve situations, and propose and execute solutionsStrong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a teamAbility to work accurately and efficiently with multiple priorities and changing deadlinesAbility to maintain a high level of confidentialityAbility to travel occasionallyPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:CPA or relevant certificationOur Culture is built upon people who are:Driven by knowing their most important role is to help our employee's productivity through information technology, coaching and mentoring in the technology world and to add value to their overall business successDedicated to giving our employees a best-in-class experience when requesting technology help in a supportive and positive fashionCommitted to continuous learning.
