Position Summary: -This position manages and oversees all departments, coordinates all production operations to obtain maximum efficiency, improve quality and reduce costs wherever necessary. -One of the major responsibilities will be to build and sustain a "LEAN" focus. -This position requires a person who can take charge of day-to-day plant operations while also helping drive the company's "LEAN" improvement effort. -They ensure overall customer satisfaction and establish and maintain effective communication with employees and clients. -This position plays a key role in contributing to a work environment that fosters pride in being part of a winning team and promotes personal growth. -This position communicates directly with all department supervisors and the President and handles all matters that come up in a timely matter. -This position is the core and hub of the company. -This position is in charge of making sure that all resources are being used efficiently and effectively - everything from human resources to manufacturing processes to paperwork. -This position is in charge of and responsible for EVERY ASPECT of operations in the company. -Department: -Supervisory to all DepartmentsSupervisor: - -PresidentPositions Supervised: -All company personnel.Primary Hours: -Monday through Friday, 5:30am to 3:30pm are the core hours. -Coming in early, staying late, nights and weekends may be required. -This position often needs to meet with staff and work the hours that they work and therefore should be flexible. -Essential Functions and Responsibilities to be done personally or through assistant personnelGeneral and Administrative --- - - - - - - - -Create and implement new, as well as follow current systems and procedures outlined in the company manuals. -Ensure Company policies and procedures are followed. --- - - - - - - - -Meet all assigned goals and assist others in accomplishing their goals.Production Operations --- - - - - - - - -Analyzes production operations and determines changes in production procedures. --- - - - - - - - -Lead the plant operational improvement efforts with clear goals for improving on-time delivery, productivity, and inventory turns. --- - - - - - - - -Lead by example and create an atmosphere of accountability in the workplace. --- - - - - - - - -Provide hands-on leadership and development of direct reports. --- - - - - - - - -Provide overall guidance for "LEAN" manufacturing initiatives. --- - - - - - - - -Coordinate with all department managers to implement the company's policies and goals. --- - - - - - - - -Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as quantity, size, color, and specifications, and schedules delivery dates in order to plan department operations. --- - - - - - - - -Plans production operations, establishes priorities, and schedules jobs. --- - - - - - - - -Prepares departmental budget and monitors expenditure of budgeted funds. --- - - - - - - - -Establishes priorities and sequence for manufacturing products. --- - - - - - - - -Coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure that production and quality of products meets customer specifications. --- - - - - - - - -Implement quality-control programs. --- - - - - - - - -Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays. --- - - - - - - - -Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance, optimum utilization, and safe operation. --- - - - - - - - -Develops or revises standard operational procedures (SOP) and work practices and trains workers to ensure flawless compliance with established standards. --- - - - - - - - -Implement employee training programs. --- - - - - - - - -Guarantee satisfaction and value for our customers. --- - - - - - - - -Assist with estimating --- - - - - - - - -Assures the pricing accuracy of all job tickets. --- - - - - - - - -Schedule, plan and conduct morning production meetings. --- - - - - - - - -Ensure the completion of all duties with a minimum of waste and abuse to equipment. --- - - - - - - - -Ensure employee safety training is conducted as required by company policy. --- - - - - - - - -Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data. --- - - - - - - - -Maintains production records.Production Personnel --- - - - - - - - -Completes and handles all human resources functions consistently and accurately. --- - - - - - - - -Initiate hiring when needed to cope with expanding workload or for replacement of substandard employees. --- - - - - - - - -Conduct training or authorize training of production employees. --- - - - - - - - -Conduct formal performance reviews for each and every employee. --- - - - - - - - -Initiate disciplinary measures according to company policy when needed and dismiss production employees when all corrective attempts have failed.Financial --- - - - - - - - -Take all necessary actions to manage production costs and improve profitability. --- - - - - - - - -Ensure inventories are conducted and accurate records are maintained. --- - - - - - - - -Advise Vice President on capital improvements needed to increase company productivity. --- - - - - - - - -Evaluate production equipment purchases/leases and conduct cost/benefit analyses.Equipment / Supplies --- - - - - - - - -Schedule, delegate, and ensure performance of all equipment maintenance following the company maintenance procedures. --- - - - - - - - -Coordinate and manage all inventory supplies to ensure minimum waste and spoilage. --- - - - - - - - -Inform the Vice President of equipment and production problems. --- - - - - - - - -Maintain a safe work environment and ensure the maintenance and upkeep of the facility. --- - - - - - - - in short, flawless customer service and employee relations. -There is no such thing as having a bad day. -Person must remain calm, professional, and in control at all times. -Ability to earn respect and work as a team player with all employees as well as be a leader. -A demonstrated ability to support teams in a hard-charging work environment. -A proven track record in implementing change in an organization, with the ability to understand and work within existing systems prior to planning such change. -Ability to connect and engage with existing work force. -Must be able to problem solve and multi-task. -Must be very organized and detail oriented. -Must have the ability to handle high stress at times and be able to keep and maintain a calm disposition under stress. -Must have excellent phone etiquette and clear communication skills. -Must be able to multi-task many projects on a daily basis. -Must be self-motivated and have dedication to the job to work the hours required as needed.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of supervisory and non-supervisory personnel. Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with company policies, procedures, safety, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning assisting, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or Production Management from four-year College or university and a minimum of 7 years of screen printing and/or digital imaging production management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. -Thorough knowledge of and experience with production in a "LEAN" Manufacturing Environment. - -Strong skills in work planning, scheduling, and must have good judgment of color, design, and printing quality. -Excellent communication and high attention to detail are a must. -Ability to overcome technical and people obstacles is critical. -Excellent computer knowledge and experience are also required.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
