This role has been designated as Hybrid work schedule and will be based out of our Pueblo, CO or La Crosse, WI location.
As the Productivity Lead Engineer , you serve as the Lead Engineer that is responsible to expand margin by reducing product cost through design changes for the North American Chiller Portfolio. You will also collaborate with procurement on source change cost reductions and manufacturing on labor-overhead cost reductions. The cost reductions from productivity are the engine that enables investment in new technologies and products for additional revenue expansion.
Responsibilities:



  • Manage the direct material productivity process and project portfolio from cradle to grave: Ideation, project execution, productivity forecasting, and tracking productivity actuals


  • Report up and out on productivity pipeline and metrics


  • In addition to the overall productivity process and result, you will have the opportunity to contribute by leading projects that will expand margin.


  • Help identify opportunities that simplify the chiller product portfolio and chiller design architecture


  • Applies design for manufacturing principles to reduce labor and overhead costs.


  • Assist procurement with source change initiatives to lower costs without sacrificing quality and supply chain resiliency


  • Create productivity process and project management training materials, work instructions, and coach other Engineers and cross functional team members


    What we expect of you:


    • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, HVACR Technology or related discipline required.


    • 10+ years of experience in design or manufacturing of durable goods, commercial/industrial equipment, or other related products


    • 3+ years of experience coordinating or leading a team


    • Ability to effectively communicate with others both written and orally


      Ideally, you would also be familiar with one or more of the following


      • Understanding/exposure to multiple development processes (for example: Agile, Waterfall, Iterative, stage-gate, etc.)


      • Knowledge of one or more manufacturing processes (for example: sheet metal fabrication, brazing, welding, fastening/joining and general assembly, etc.)


      • Project Management Profession (PMP) certified or the ability to become PMP certified as part of a development program


      • Experience with data manipulation in Excel or Tableau


      • Knowledge of HVAC equipment and/or HVAC sub-system design


        Base Compensation Range is $88,500 to $184,000
