We boldly go.\n\nJob Summary:\n\nThe Senior Compressor Engineer is a key member of the Screw and Scroll Compressor Product Engineering team, which works across the Trane Technologies business to understand and develop compression technology to meet our customers' needs. In this role, you will solve technology needs through testing, qualification and manufacturing integration of Scroll, Screw and Centrifugal compressors used in HVAC and Transport Refrigeration applications.\n\nCore Job Responsibilities (others may be added):\n\n\n\tFacilitate design reviews, conduct design FMEAs; oversee execution of virtual engineering and physical testing validation plans.\n\tCollaborate with engineering teams across the business to provide compressor selection recommendations and refine design to meet application needs. Maintain awareness of new technology through supplier relationships, participation in technical societies, academic research projects, and conferences.\n\tCreate and maintain engineering documentation, including technical reports, lab test results, drawings, models, and specifications.\n\tLead a development team of engineers, designers, and technicians through a project, both remote and on site. Coordinate engineering communication and ensure tasks are shared among a broader engineering team.\n\tSome overnight travel will be required, approximately 10%.\n\n\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n\n\tBachelor's Degree in Engineering and at least 5 years of work experience in product engineering is required.\n\tMaster's Degree in Engineering is a plus.\n\n\n\nKey Competencies:\n\n\n\tMechanical design and engineering experience including strong understanding of GD&T and statistical tolerancing, with practical hands-on hardware experience.\n\tStrong verbal and written communication skills - ability to communicate up, down and across the organization.\n\tExperience with Heating, Ventilation & Air-Conditioning/Refrigeration (HVAC/R) system or rotating equipment applications.\n\tDemonstrated experience in applying engineering, project management and problem-solving skills to introduce new products.\n\n\n\nAnnual Compensation Range is $80,000 to $140,000 annually.
